About Nana Hagel

Before there was Instagram, likes and Reels, there was a desktop app called Toycamera Analogcolor. I used that app to edit an entire Facebook album shared in 2011, probably over-saturating every image.

The album was filled with photos from my six months alone in Paris, studying French, and walking around with a camera around my neck. Those photos resulted in my first ever pitch to a Danish newspaper, and it became the starting point of a career as a freelance journalist and photographer.

Today, more than a decade later, after thousands of photos and even more words, I still have a need to freeze a moment and a place in time. The media outlets have changed, more than 100 thousand people from around the world are now following along, but the basics remains the same. Telling stories, getting lost in photo editing, inviting my readers in and hopefully making it worthwhile.

Thank you for being here. It means a lot!
